Vällingby

Vällingby was design in 1950s as new city (specific type of a planned community that was carefully planned from its inception and is typically constructed in a previously undeveloped area).It is a suburban district in Västerort in the north-western part of Stockholm.

Main concept was “ABC City” Arbete - Bostad - Centrum, "Work - Housing - Centre" design by architect Sven Markelius who placed high-rise buildings near the metro stations with peripheral self-contained houses and green areas around it. He want to create a place where residents can find everything they need

Main square except from Metro Station is design to fulfill need of entertainment. There is a lot of places where people can spend their free time

Now Vällingby is one of the most popular suburbs of Stockholm and since 2001 is still renovating. Part of main square is covered by steel construction.
