Norra Djurgardsstaden

Norra Djurgardsstaden, which is a new urban district--Stockholm Royal Seaport--is developing in eastern Stockholm. In Stockholm Royal Seaport, modern architecture and environmental thinking is being combined, creating a new vibrant district for sustainable living, business and recreation.
A former brownfield industrial area of 236 hectares is being transformed into a state-of-the art waterfront area. As one of Europe's largest urban development projects, the challenge for Stockholm Royal Seaport is to combine the development of a city with the features that make Stockholm unique: the proximity to water and nature.

There are three overall environmental targets for Stcokholm Royal Seaports:

1.By 2030, Stockholm Royal Seaport is free of fossil fuels.
2.By 2020, carbon emissions are lower than 1.5 tonnes per person.
3.Stockholm Royal Seaport is adapted to future changes in climate.

In general, five areas would be focused on during the Norra Djurgardsstaden project: energy consumption and efficiency, sustainable transport, climate change adaptation, eco-cycle model and lifestyle.

Throughing this projest Stockholm Royal Seaport will be transformed into a dynamic living district which bring everyone a cluster for culture and entertainment facilities.
